Sacrifice *A Poem*
52
"To live is Christ and to die is gain..."
I can't really describe how I am feeling inside,
but I guess I will go
ahead and give it a try,
been going around the mountain a couple of
times.
And yes the mountain does have a couple of names:
failure,
dissappointment, heartache, and shame-
these are the things that make me
feel lame.
But like Lazarus, Jesus is calling me to rise up and walk,
get out of
the grave and shake those dead things off,
the kingdom of God is more
than just talk.
It requires dying to self and living for Christ,
giving up desires and
self-sacrifice,
sometimes following Him comes with a high price.
But what Jesus did is beyond earthly measure,
undescribable pain so
that I can have pleasure,
all because he calls me his priceless
treasure.
So despite all my mistakes and wretched flesh,
I depend upon Jesus to
bring out my best,
his grace is sufficient for all my trials and tests.
If I can bring a smile to the face of my Jesus,
then no price is too
high, no trial too grievous,
its the least I could do for the One
who'll never leave us!
